The Asian Cricket Council Asia Cup was established in 1983 and is scheduled to be held every two years, however, because of the pandemic.
The Asia Cup 2022 marks its return after four long years and is all set to commence on August 27 this year, with the final of the tournament scheduled to be held on September 11. Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) will be hosting the tournament in the United Arab Emirates. The host Sri Lanka will face Afghanistan in the first match of the tournament.
This time the tournament will take place in the T20 format with a total of 6 teams participating. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan are the 5 confirmed teams so far. However, Kuwait, UAE, Singapore, and Hong Kong will be playing a Qualifier for the 6th spot.
