Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has reportedly recovered from the back spasm and will be fit for the fourth and fifth T20Is of the five match series against West Indies in Florida.

On Tuesday, Rohit suffered a serious injury scare when he had to be taken off the field after retiring hurt while batting. The Indian opener was batting on 11 off 5 balls and had smashed a six and a four in the third T20I, before feeling discomfort in his back.

Indian physio Kamlesh Jain sprinted onto the field to assess Rohit's condition, and after an extended conversation, the right-handed batter went off holding his back. BCCI later revealed that he was facing back spasms.

However, ahead of the crucial match, the Men in Blue received a major boost when a source close to BCCI reported that Rohit has regained fitness and he will be ready to take the field in the Florida-leg of the West Indies tour.

Rohit will join the team in Miami

“Yes, Rohit has recovered from his back spasms and is fit now. He and coach Rahul Dravid will join the team in Miami after they had to go to Guyana with a few other players for interviews for the US Visa,” a source in the BCCI told TOI.

In the five-match series thus far, Rohit has accumulated 75 runs. The 36-year-old started the series with a brilliant half-century in the opening game, where he scored 64 runs in 44 balls at a strike-rate of 145.45. He could not score a single run in the second T20I, whereas he had to retire himself for 11 in the third T20I.
