England skipper Heather Knight has found herself in troubled waters as her hip injury has led to her being ruled out of the ongoing Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2022 and the upcoming edition of The Hundred.

Knight, who suffered the injury in July against South Africa, had since missed every game, including the first two fixtures of the CWG Women's Cricket Competition 2022, for England.

Sciver to lead England

Since Knight has missed out on the action, Nat Sciver will continue as the England's stand-in captain.

The all-rounder had already taken over the captaincy duties after Knight's forced sabbatical.

England march to semi-finals

In Sciver's leadership, England won the last two matches of the series versus Proteas. Following this, the hosts gathered two consecutive wins in the CWG games against Sri Lanka and South Africa, respectively, making their way to the semi-finals of the tournament without breaking a sweat.

Sciver and Co. will next be seen in action on August 4 against New Zealand. Then, they will feature in the knockout clash, scheduled on Saturday at Edgbaston.
