English middle-order batter and Kent skipper Sam Billings has signed a three-year contract with its current county side. The agreement sees him getting through to the end of the 2025 season, which effectively commits his future to his home side.

Billings was asked to lead Kent before the beginning of the 2018 season, after which he took his side to the final of the One-Day cup along with promotion to Division 1 in the County Championship.

Captaining 66 matches for Kent, Billings’ highest point as skipper arrived when he led his team successfully to the 2021 T20 Blast title, which also was the side’s first title in their T20 history.

What Billings said after signing the contract

"I have been at this Club since I was eight years old, and it gives me immense pride to represent my county at every opportunity. We need to continue to push forward, and progress and I look forward to playing a part in driving the Club to further success.

“I’m delighted to commit my long-term future to Kent, and I’m excited to see what the future brings for us.”

Billings’ future ahead

Considering this contract extension, Billings’ future with Kent looks promising as the side will try their best to ensure he leads them with a positive approach to another successful season.
