WI vs IND | Emphatic India ride on Gill's 98 and Siraj's magic spell to hammer WI by 119 runs

A brilliant all-round bowling performance-led by Mohammed Siraj and stunning knocks from Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill helped Team India thump a listless West Indies by 119 runs (D/L Method) and claim a 3-0 whitewash in Trinidad on Wednesday.

Having been set a revised target of 257 in 35 overs, the home side never got anywhere close to the total and were eventually bundled out for 137 in 26 overs.

The tone was set by Mohammed Siraj (2-14 in 3), who produced a couple of unplayable inswingers to knock over Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks in the first over of the innings. Brandon King and Shai Hope eventually steadied the ship for the home side.

Chahal & co spin Windies batters into a tizzy

The partnership was eventually broken by Yuzvendra Chahal (4-17 in 4) after Hope ran past a delivery that spun past him to get stumped.

The West Indies batters struggled to get going, and it triggered a collapse that saw the hosts lose their last 6 wickets for 36 runs.

Shubman Gill sparkles with an unbeaten 98; Shreyas Iyer pumps momentum with an intentful knock

Earlier, India rode on brilliant knocks from Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer to post 225-3 in 36 overs before the rain gods put a premature end to their innings.

Gill and Dhawan added 113 runs for the 1st wicket

While Shreyas (44 off 34) led the assault with some eye-catching shots, Gill too shifted gears, complimenting his partner brilliantly.

The duo went on to add 86 runs in just under 10 overs before Iyer perished for the cause. Suryakumar Yadav smashed a four before miscuing an attempted slog off Walsh.

Eventually the total proved to be a bit too much for the Windies as they crumbled under pressure.
