County Championship Division I | New Zealand cricketer Colin de Grandhomme joins Surrey

New Zealand all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme has signed for Surrey County Cricket Club (CCC) as a short-term replacement for injured Kemar Roach.

He has represented New Zealand in 28 Tests, 45 ODIs and 41 T20I games.  

The all-rounder who scored a century for Hampshire against Surrey last season has been roped in for the next three matches. It will provide a great opportunity for de Grandhomme to acclimate to the conditions ahead of the Test series against England. 

Kemar Roach was supposed to spend the first two months of the season with Surrey, but the pacer injured his hamstring in a game against Hampshire, which ended his five-game spell with the county after just two matches.

"Following the injury to Roach, we are pleased to have secured Colin's services for the next three four-day games," said Alec Stewart, Surrey's director of cricket. 

He already has good experience of the county and will add to the quality and balance of the team," Stewart further added.

Surrey have also signed Australian pacer Daniel Worrall for a three-year contract. He is scheduled to make his debut against Gloucestershire along with Colin de Grandhomme.

Surrey's next Championship fixture will take place against Gloucestershire in Bristol on April 28.
