Tom Kohler-Cadmore signs a 3-year deal with Somerset

On June 20 (Monday), the Somerset County Cricket Club announced the signing of Yorkshire batter Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

Cadmore has signed a three-year deal and will join Somerset later this winter, despite having a contract with Headingley until 2023.

Cadmore has scored over 3800 First-class runs at an average of 32.30, while registering a top score of 176. He has hit nine hundreds in that time as well.

In List A format, he has 1808 runs at an average of 34.11. On the other hand, Cadmore has amassed over 3000 runs in the shortest format, with a personal best score of 127.

Since 2017, the 27-year-old has been featuring for the Yorkshire County team, and is one of the most consistent performers across all the formats. He has demonstrated the flexibility to perform well in the top-order as well as the middle-order.

However, Cadmore has grown in popularity in the white-ball franchise tournaments in recent years. In 12 innings of the 2021/22 edition of Abu Dhabi T10, Cadmore scored 288 runs at a strike rate of 200.

The Kent-born cricketer has not featured in any of the games for Yorks in the County Championship 2022 season.

However, Cadmore has been a regular fixture in the T20 Blast and has accumulated 194 runs for Yorkshire at an average of 38.80, and thus helping the team to emerge victorious in five of the 10 matches.

Somerset Director of Cricket, Andy Hurry said, “We are delighted to have been able to secure the services of such a talented batter who is driven to playing at the highest level. His record speaks for itself across all formats, and he will bring a wealth of experience from his time within the English domestic game plus from the time that he’s spent in global competitions around the world."

After finalizing the signing, Cadmore has revealed that he hopes to lift trophies for Somerset in the upcoming tournaments.

“I’m really looking forward to the next chapter of my career. Somerset are a Club that are held in high regard within the game and I’m looking forward to contributing to them lifting silverware in the next few years.”
