Will rain abandon Ind-A vs Aus-A 1st unofficial ODI? Green Park Kanpur weather update

On Tuesday, September 30, the start of the first unofficial ODI between India A and Australia A has been delayed due to rain. The two teams were set to lock horns at the Green Park Stadium, but heavy downpour and wet outfield has resulted in a delayed start to the game.

At present, rain has reduced by a significant margin, but still the covers are on and it is expected that the two teams are preparing themselves for a rain reduced match. Also, the two teams know that they are in for a long delay and have engaged in different activities in the dressing room.

It is a setback for Shreyas Iyer-led side as the A side would look to replicate the success of the team in unofficial Tests where the Dhruv Jurel-led side beat Australia A 1-0. Meanwhile, lets look at the weather update in Kanpur.

There is a 94% cloud cover and a 75% chances of precipitations with around 18% probability of thunderstorms. It is still humid out there and the temperature still ranging around 33°. However, with this persistent rain, it is likely that the humidity levels will go up. 

If we talk about the drainage system at the Green Park Stadium, then it is not the best in the country and despite hours of rain, the ground will take its own sweet time to get the surface ready for a game.

At present, at the time of writing, there is no rain, but the covers are on, but as reported by Abhishek Saini, there is a damp squib, making it impossible to start the game anytime soon.
