Shubman Gill reaction after being dismissed [Source: @StarSportsIndia/x.com]
Shubman Gill is generally not related with having outbursts on the field. In fact, fans have often admired the character of the Indian cricketers for his calm and composed nature. However, a different side of the GT skipper was seen during the ongoing game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad.
How Shubman Gill Was Dismissed vs SRH?
The incident concerned the dismissal of Shubman Gill, where the player felt that the decision given against him was not fair. Notably, after playing a brilliant knock of 76 runs from 38 deliveries, the GT skipper fell prey to an ufortunate run-out.
The concerned event occured during the 13th over of the GT innings. Jos Buttler turned a length delivery by Zeeshan Ansari towards the leg side and called for a quick single. Harsal Patel collected the balla and threw it at the keeper's end. Apparently, Heinrich Klaasen dislosged the bails and appealed for the run-out of Shubman Gill.
Gill Gets Angry With The Decision
The third umpire was called to make the decision. The replays showed that while Klaasen was dislodging the bails the ball might not have been in his glives. However, the third umpire felt that the ball had touched the stumps and was the cause of the bails being disloged adjuging it as run-out.

The decision infuriated Gill as he was seen having a heated discussion with the match official on the sideline. Now, the question arises will the reaction by the GT skipper result in him being fined.
What Does The IPL Code Of Conduct State?
Article 2.8 of the IPL code of conduct states -
"Article 2.8 includes: (a) excessive, obvious disappointment with an Umpire’s decision; (b) an obvious delay in resuming play or leaving the wicket; (c) shaking the head; (d) pointing or looking at the inside edge when given out LBW; (e) pointing to the pad or rubbing the shoulder when caught behind; (f) snatching the cap from the Umpire; (g) requesting a referral to the TV Umpire (other than in the context of a legitimate request for a referral as may be permitted in such Match); and (h) arguing or entering into a prolonged discussion with the Umpire about his/her decision.
This offence is not intended to punish a batter showing his/her instinctive disappointment at his/her dismissal. When assessing the seriousness of the breach, the following factors (without limitation) should be considered: (i) whether the conduct contains an element of anger or abuse which is directed at the Umpire or the Umpire’s decision; (ii) whether there is excessive delay in resuming play or leaving the wicket; or (iii) whether there is persistent re-reference to the incident over time.
It shall not be a defence to any charge brought under this Article to show that the Umpire might have, or in fact did, get any decision wrong."
As it seems, that there is every possibility that Shubman Gill's reaction will be considered as a level 1 offence. It could be that the GT skipper will be fined 25% of his match fees for the outburst.
As the code of conduct states that for level 1 and level 2 offences, the players are fined 25% of their match fees.
