Mohammed Amir, the star Pakistan bowler is playing for Desert Vipers in ILT20 2025 and after playing two matches at the start of the season, the speedster has been dropped for the game against MI Emirates. David Payne has been brought into the XI in his place and Amir has been shifted into the Impact Substitutes category.

However, Desert Vipers are bowling first and as Amir is not included in the XI, there is surety of the Pakistan pacer not playing against MI Emirates. The reason for his exclusion is the tactical change which skipper Lockie Ferguson mentioned at the toss. Amir has done decently in the two matches he has played in this season and has bagged three wickets at an economy rate of 6.50 and strike-rate of 16.

Desert Vipers Look To Extend Winning Run In Absence Of Mohammad Amir

His replacement David Payne also brings similar skillset to the table as he is also a left-arm seamer and swings the new ball quite well. It is the only change in Desert Vipers' XI with Luke Wood and captain Lockie Ferguson as other seamers. Wanindu Hasaranga is their key spinner and he would have to play a big role if they want to stop a belligerent batting unit like MI Emirates.

Desert Vipers have won both the games so far while MI Emirates have won one and lost one so far. It promises to be a cracking game and it would be interesting how Vipers go about their business without the star power of Mohammed Amir.
