The 25-year old, Vidwath Kaverappa hailing from Karnataka, was acquired by Punjab Kings in February 2023 for 20 lakhs. He is a fast, hit the deck bowler who bowls at fast medium pace. It was because of his stellar performance in Karnataka Premier League, that caught PBKS' eye and it resulted in him earning his maiden IPL contract.
A good wicket-taking bowler, in the T20s he has scalped 23 wickets from 13 innings, one of which was a 5-wicket haul. Moreover, he is an excellent red ball bowler, having played 10 First class games with an average of 21.67 and 34 wickets to his name. In the 2022-23 Ranji season, Kaverappa became the 2nd highest wicket taker for Karnataka. At present, he has total of 80 wickets from 20 games.
He is making his debut for the Punjab Kings against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the HPCA Stadium, Dharamsala.
