Manav Suthar, the 21-year-old left-arm spinner from Hyderabad, will make his IPL debut on Saturday (May 4) in Match 52 of the ongoing edition against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.

Suthar replaced R Sai Kishore, who earlier won a Player of the Match award for the IPL 2022 champions.

Suthar was picked by Gujarat Titans ahead of this season at a base price of INR 20 lakh. He is primarily a bowling all-rounder, who made his domestic debut in 2022.

In all, Suthar has played 14 First-Class matches, eight List-A games, and seven T20s, in which he collectively picked up 84 wickets. With the bat, his First-Class record is impressive as well, averaging 30.50 and tallying 488 runs across 21 innings.

With only four wins and six defeats, Gujarat are placed eighth on the points table. They desperately need a win to stay in the playoffs contention, while RCB are 10th on the table, with only three wins and seven losses.

It is important to note that RCB, if they lose, will be eliminated from the competition after Mumbai Indians, although they still have very little hope with plenty of permutations and combinations.
