The stage is set for the knockout stage of the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy season, and the match between Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu will serve as the curtain raiser for the pre-quarterfinal phase of the tournament. The match will be hosted by the Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara and the action is slated to commence from 9:00 AM IST onwards.

Rajasthan qualified for the knockout stage of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25 season by recording five wins from their seven league fixtures. Finishing second on the Group B points table, behind Maharashtra, Rajasthan sustained just two defeats and secured a formidable NRR of 0.349.

Tamil Nadu also finished second, albeit on the Group D points table with an even better NRR of 2.443. However, they registered four wins and suffered one defeat from five league fixtures to finish the opening round with 18 points. Their first match of the tournament against Chandigarh was washed out due to rains.
