Asia Cup 2025 kicks off on September 9th at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi with Afghanistan vs Hong Kong. India will play their first game the next day, on September 10th. This year, the tournament will be played in the T20 format, which means senior stars like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma won’t be part of the squad. Still, the excitement is high, especially since India and Pakistan might face each other up to three times during the tournament.
Notably, Afghanistan enter the Asia Cup after losing a recent tri-series final to Pakistan, but they showed flashes of brilliance. With Rashid Khan leading the side, and key players like Ibrahim Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, they’ll be hoping for a strong start against Hong Kong.
