Mumbai Indians are in a tricky situation when it comes to the IPL 2023 playoff scenario. Currently, they are at the sixth position and need to win the game by a big margin to overhaul RCB's net run-rate (if RCB win their evening game against GT).
However, if Mumbai win the match, and RCB lost their final game against the Gujarat Titans, then the Rohit Sharma led side will go through to the next round. A lot of permutations and combinations have been used, but skipper Rohit Sharma is unfazed by it.
Speaking at the toss time, Rohit stated that the only goal is to win the game and not to look at the net run-rate.
"We are going to chase. Just an afternoon game and we are comfortable in doing that. Whatever the pitch has to offer will offer in the first half. As the sun sets, it should be getting better to bat."
He added: "Tricky one actually. We are looking to win the game and just not look at how we are winning the game. At the end of the day, winning the game is important to give us a chance. We are not looking too far ahead."
Talking about the toss, Mumbai Indians won the toss and Rohit Sharma elected to bowl first. SRH have nothing to lose and they'll be aiming to spoil Mumbai's qualification dream.
