Match 2 of the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL) 2022 witnessed the Hobart Hurricanes take on Sydney Thunder at Blacktown International Sportspark. In a low-scoring match, the Hurricanes prevailed over Sydney by 19 runs, as bowlers Heather Graham and Molly Strano picked up 3-wicket hauls each.

Chasing 126 to win the Rachael Haynes-captained side kept on losing wickets at regular intervals that restricting their chase further. Graham picked up the crucial scalps of Phoebe Litchfield (25) and Tahlia Wilson (26), who were the top scorers for their side. 

She, along with Strano, stranglehold the middle order, which consisted of the likes of Chloe Tryon, Sammy-Jo Johnson, and Haynes. 


Hurricanes make 125 ​

Asked to bat the Hurricanes’ innings was anchored by Mignon du Preez. She scored a 27-ball 33 before falling to Tyron. Tryon also got the better of Rachel Trenaman, who looked good in her short innings of 31.

Recently retired from international cricket, Lizelle Lee provided some resistance, making 25 runs while opening the innings. Skipper Elyse Villani made just three runs.

Star with the ball, Graham also chipped in with a 15-ball 17, which helped win the player of the match award as well.

Samantha Bates and Tryon picked two wickets apiece, restricting Hurricanes to under 125.
