The series of events currently unfolding at the Adelaide Oval are not going in India's favour and that has left the Indian cricket teams and their fans angry and hot-headed. In the on-going Pink-Ball Test between India and Australia, a shocking incident unfolded as Mitchell Marsh got a lifeline despite indications suggesting that he was indeed dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin.

Umpiring Blunder In BGT's Adelaide Oval Test

In the 57.3 over, R. Ashwin bowled a full-length delivery to Mitchell Marsh, which pitched closer to the off stump. Marsh, coming down the pitch to drive, was struck on the pad with his bat in close proximity. India appealed for an LBW, which the on-field umpire, Ian Gould, dismissed. Ashwin said it was out, claiming the ball could have hit the pad first and, if that is the case, Marsh would have been plumb. Rishabh Pant supported Ashwin saying the bat was behind the pad and the ball had hit the pad first.

India decided to review it and the ball-tracking suggested that the ball would have hit the stumps. However, there was no definite evidence to overrule the on-field decision. The bat and pads were close at the point of impact and there was a doubt that the ball first hit the pad. Therefore, the original "not out" decision was upheld. With this, India lost their second review.

Angry Kohli Argues With Umpire

This did not sit right with ex-India captain and right-handed batter Virat Kohli, who went to argue with the umpire and highlighted that it was a mistake. He said that KL's dismissal in Perth was similar as there were two spikes, bat and pad.

Meanwhile, at the time of writing, Australia lead by 33 runs as Travis Head and Alec Carey are out in the middle.
