[Watch] Taskin Bowls A Beauty As Mohammad Nabi Makes A Mockery Of Himself

At Dharamsala, Afghanistan batters were toying with the bowling at one moment, but then came Shakib Al Hasan with the ball and castled the top and middle order like a pack of cards. Mohammad Nabi, who has pulled his national out of trouble countless times, had the onus on his shoulders. Still, the Afghan maestro all-rounder failed to deliver in the ICC World Cup 2023 opener against Bangladesh on Saturday.

Coming out 112-3 in the 25th over, Nabi was responsible for keeping a check on runs and holding a forte from one end. However, the 38-year-old failed to do so as he played an irresponsible stroke against Taskin Ahmed, who bowled a beauty delivery.

Taskin dished a good length delivery in the channel that nipped into the right-handed batter, who tried punching it away from the body and inside-edged onto the woods. The ball kissed the edge and crashed onto the leg stump as the peg went for a cartwheel.

Nabi was the sixth Afghan man to fall against Bangladesh in Dharamsala on Saturday. His wicket initiated another collapse as the Afghanistan team ended on 156-10 after being 113-2 at one stage.

Afghanistan would be low on confidence after getting thrashed by the Tigers on a track that historically isn't known to favour spinners; however, they could script historic at the HPCA stadium if their world-class spinners stand up to the occasion.
