Bangladesh in the quest to defend 236 runs needed an early breakthrough and Taskin Ahmed provided just that as he castled Will Young with a ripper in the first over of the chase. The fast bowler delivered the ball of the match as the centurion from the previous match had no answer against it.

Under lights in Rawalpindi, the ball does move a bit in the early going and the Bangladesh bowler took advantage of it. The Tigers were desperately craving for an early wicket to stay alive in the game and Taskin was up for the task.

Taskin bowls a ripper!

He bowled an inch-perfect length delivery which nipped back in sharply as Will Young played it away from the body and left a huge bat-pad gap. The ball breezed past the gap and shattered the stumps as Young was stunned.

After the wicket, Taskin had a wild celebration as he went to his teammates and celebrated the fall of the early inroad. This was not the only scalp as Nahid Rana got the big fish and dismissed Kane Williamson cheaply.

Najmul Shanto and Jaker Ali take Bangladesh to decent total

On a flat Rawalpindi surface, Bangladesh batters started on a sluggish note, as they struggled for runs due to the tight bowling of the Kiwi bowlers.

However, Najmul Hossain Shanto played a gritty knock and steered the side forward. He was all set to reach the century mark, but was dismissed for a well-compiled 77. At one stage, the Tigers looked down and out, but Jaker Ali, alongside Rishad Hossain gave some lusty blows and propelled the team to a decent 236/9.
