Suryakumar Yadav scored only one run off his first nine balls on Tuesday (November 28) during India’s third T20I of the five-match series against Australia at Barsapara Cricket Stadium, Guwahati. After that, the Men in Blue stand-in skipper broke the shackles in style, as Nathan Ellis found himself at the receiving end.
After asking India to bat first, Australia got two dangerous wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Ishan Kishan inside the first 15 balls of the contest. Hence, SKY and Ruturaj Gaikwad had to rebuild the innings, and they took a little time to settle themselves in the middle.
Then, when Ellis was introduced to the attack, SKY took charge. He picked up a length delivery perfectly and flicked it nonchalantly over the deep fine leg for a six.

It was not the only six from Suryakumar, who played almost an identical shot against Ellis two balls later. The result was the same, and the distance was far better than what had been reached before.
At the time of writing, the Men in Blue have recovered beautifully, having reached 60/2 in 7.3 overs, with SKY batting on 28* off 20 balls. Ruturaj Gaikwad, batting from another end, is on 12* off 14 balls.
