Mehidy Hasan Miraz, the Khulna Tigers captain was in great form heading into the clash Vs Rangpur Riders on Monday, however, the star all-rounder was bamboozled by a brilliant delivery from Akif Javed from the Riders. Mehidy went for a wild slog and the stumps got shattered and the opposition side got a ray of hope in a low scoring contest.

Khulna Tigers were outstanding with the ball as they knocked over the Riders for 85 and a target of 86 looked quite easy on paper. However, Javed had some other plans as he delivered a deadly delivery and Mehidy had no answer for it.

Javed bowled a fuller and straighter length ball as Mehidy Hasan went for a wild swing and missed the ball completely as it shattered his stumps and the batter departed without opening his account.

The Khulna skipper looked disappointed and rightly so as he had been in tremendous form prior to this contest.


Rangpur dismissed for paltry 85

Rangpur Riders had all the big names in the match, but all of them failed as the Riders got bundled out for 85.

Only two batters crossed the double digits as Nasum Ahmed and Mehidy Hasan Miraz ran riot with the ball in hand. While Nasum scalped 3 for 16 in a brilliant spell, Mehidy was even better as the captain led from the front and picked up 3 for 10 to rattle the Rangpur side.

The target was easy to chase as despite losing the skipper, Khulna chased it down with 9 wickets in hand and 58 balls to spare.
