On Friday, January 16, Sydney Thunder locked horns against Sydney Sixers for the BBL’s Sydney derby. The Sixers won the toss and opted to field first. David Warner stole the limelight after he slammed a brilliant 110 off 65 balls to help Thunder put 189 runs on the board.

In reply, Steve Smith stole the limelight and overshadowed Warner’s innings with a blistering century. The right-handed batter brought up a 42-ball hundred. His innings featured five fours and nine sixes to put the Sixers in a dominating position in the Derby.

Steve Smith denies a single to Babar Azam to slam 32 runs in an over

Notably, crazy scenes unfolded in the 11th over of the match, which actually turned the course of the game. The duo got off to a blistering start and slammed 141-runs stand for the first wicket. Steve Smith was the aggressive one, but Babar Azam struggled for pace.

Notably, in the 10th over of the match, Babar played four straight dot balls, and eventually, Smith denied him a single on the last ball of the over. It was a bizarre moment in the match as Babar was shellshocked by the incident.

Smith quickly justified the decision as he took on Ryan Hadley and slammed him for 32 runs in the over. Smith slammed four consecutive centuries and had his eyes set on six sixes in the over.

However, on the fifth ball, he slammed one for a four, but it turned out to be a four. Under pressure, Hadley bowled a wide, resulting in 30 runs off just four balls. However, he bounced back in the last two balls and gave away just two more runs.

Here is how the over went - 6,6,6,6, 4nb, wd, 0, 2
