India produced a dominant performance against Bangladesh on Friday in the first semi-final of the Women's Asia Cup 2024 in Dambulla.

The Women in Blue restricted Bangladesh to 80/8 in their 20 overs, and then Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma -- two of their star openers -- hit runs for fun to make a mockery of the run chase.

The highlight of India's innings was the way Mandhana smashed Bangladesh's ace speedster Jahanara Alam out of the park.

It was the fifth ball of the fourth over by Jahanara, who came around the wicket against Mandhana. The southpaw was waiting for it, and dispatched it nonchalantly over deep mid-wicket for a gorgeous six.

As usual, Mandhana had a cute smile on her face right after the blow to Bangladesh fast bowler.

Mandhana made an impressive fifty, and she took 38 balls to get there. She hit the winning runs to get there, while Shafali remained unbeaten on 26* off 28 deliveries. India, chasing 81, saw off the paltry 81-run target within 11 overs with all ten wickets in hand.
