Pakistan's batting troubles continued in the second T20I of the ongoing five-match T20I series against New Zealand at the University Oval, Dunedin, on March 18. After getting bowled out for just 91 runs in the first T20I match, Pakistan hoped for a better performance. However, things didn’t go as planned, and Mohammad Haris failed to make an impact again, scoring only 11 runs off 10 balls.

New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first once again. Fast bowler Jacob Duffy gave them a perfect start by dismissing Hasan Nawaz for a duck in the very first over. Pakistan needed a strong response, but more trouble followed.

Mohammad Haris Falls to Ben Sears

In the fourth over, Ben Sears struck to remove Mohammad Haris. He bowled a cross-seam delivery outside off stump, tempting Haris to go for a big shot. Haris tried to cut it over backward point but mistimed it, sending the ball high in the air. Jacob Duffy, positioned at the third-man boundary, took a comfortable catch, sending Haris back to the pavilion.

Pakistan Trying To Build Innings Against New Zealand

At the time of writing, Pakistan are at 52 for 3 in 7 overs. Agha Salman, leading the side, is batting on 62* runs, while Khushdil Shah is at 2* runs. Pakistan will need a strong fightback if they want to stay in the series.
