In the thrilling Asia Cup encounter between India and Pakistan, young sensation Shubman Gill showcased his class by notching up a fine half-century. The talented batsman, who struggled in the previous meet-up between these two teams, found his groove today and treated the fans with a display of delightful shots.

However, the match took a twist when Pakistan managed to secure a crucial breakthrough. Shadab Khan proved to be the difference-maker as he dismissed India's captain, Rohit Sharma. This wicket gave Pakistan the much-needed boost, and the match hung in the balance.

As the game reached the 18th over, the ever-dangerous Shaheen Shah Afridi returned to the spotlight, taking the ball in hand with one clear mission: to claim the prized wicket of Gill.

Shaheen Shah Afridi executed a brilliant cutter on a good length, just around off stump. Gill, looking to drive, made a premature move, and the ball caught the upper half of his bat, resulting in a gentle projectile towards the fielder at cover. It was clear that Gill misjudged the length and was deceived by Afridi's change-up delivery, as he offered hard hands to the shot.

The catch was safely taken by Shadab Khan, who celebrated as the Indian opener walked back to the pavilion. Thus, Gill departed after a valiant effort, contributing 58 runs off 52 balls.

At the time of writing, India had reached a score of 147 for 2 in 24.1 overs. Unfortunately, the match has been temporarily halted due to rain, and the covers have been brought onto the field.
