Rain god finally decided to show up as the Asia Cup match between India and Pakistan has been halted.

Ahead of the much anticipated Super-4 clash between the two nations, there was a 90% chance of rain, and the predictions have eventually come true. The match started on time, but dark clouds started to hover around the R Premadasa Stadium as the players had to rush back to the pavilion.

Fortunately for the fans and the players, there is a reserve day in place, which comes into effect if no more overs can be bowled today.

The entire outfield was covered by the ground-staffs as the rain god heavier. There were rain predictions for the entire week in Colombo, and despite it, the Super 4 matches were scheduled at the venue. The India-Pakistan group stage match was also abandoned due to the relentless rain in Pallekele, and the fears of another rain-curtailed match has come true.

India would certainly be frustrated with the outcome, as the openers had given a solid start and had laid a strog foundation for the batters to follow.

Put into bat, Indian openers, Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) attacked the Pakistan bowlers and never allowed them to settle in properly.

The two batters eventually departed in quick succesions, as Pakistan came back in the contest. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli started the repair work when the rain arrived in Colombo.

What happens if the play gets abandoned today?

If no more play is possible today, India's batting will start from 24.1 overs tomorrow. If a 20-over chase is possible tonight, India won't bat again and Pakistan will be given a target in 20 overs to chase. The umpires will do their best to finish the match tonight.
