Ruturaj Gaikwad played an audacious upper-cut on Tuesday (April 23) during Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) IPL 2024 clash against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Chepauk. The elegance of the shot reminded cricket fans of Sachin Tendulkar, who used to play the same shot day in day out.

Notably, Sachin, arguably the greatest cricket of all time, will turn 51 tomorrow.

After winning the toss, KL Rahul asked Gaikwad's CSK to bat first in their own backyard. He led by example, smashing a brilliant half-century before playing a shot which showed pure elegance.

During the 10th over of CSK's innings, Yash Thakur bowled a short delivery at 128 kph. As there was no pace but bounce, Gaikwad decided to play over Rahul's head. And the timing was exquisite, as the ball went on to cross the boundary ropes.
