Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are not only crucial for India due to their batting abilities. They have a wealth of experience which enriches the team and the other nine players on the field can take in a lot from them to improve their game.

The additional depth and variety the experience of these two players added to the team dynamics was evident during the final of the Champions Trophy 2025 between India and New Zealand. 

New Zealand won the toss in the summit clash of the tournament and opted to bat first. They had a steady start to their innings but the game then started to get back into balance.

The odds of the game kept shifting from one team to the other team. However, Daryl Mitchell played a crucial knock and held the innings together for New Zealand.

Mohammed Shami, one of India's main weapons in the bowling department was struggling to find rhythm in the match. Rohit turned to Shami in the 46th over to pick up a wicket.

However, Mitchell took the attack to the Indian pacer and put him under pressure. Rohit and Kohli were seen advising Shami at this stage. The advice from the two senior pros worked wonders for Shami as he changed his length and picked up the much-important wicket of Daryl Mitchell on the next delivery.
