Rohit Sharma failed to make any impact with the bat on his 37th birthday in Match 48 of IPL 2024 between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), taking place at Ekana Cricket Stadium. The veteran opener, just after hitting a four, fell to Mohsin Khan, as Marcus Stoinis took an excellent catch to bring disappointment to billions of ardent Indian fans.
It was a full delivery just outside the off stump by Mohsin, and Rohit tried to play a cover drive against it. However, the ball kept in the air while playing it, and Stoinis, placed at the short extra cover, took the catch right in front of his face before celebrating aggressively.
Given the fact that Rahul won the toss and asked MI to bat first, Rohit's wicket as early as inside the first two overs was nothing but gold dust. The Indian skipper was frustrated with himself, while his wife Ritika Sajdeh, who was in the stands, had a sad face while watching his man's wicket go.
