Rohit Sharma is generally a very involved and animated character on the field. He is never shy about expressing his frustration or appreciation for players for their on-field efforts. The viewers witnessed another incident of Sharma during the ongoing champions trophy match between India and New Zealand.
Notably, New Zealand are dominating the game against India. They won the toss for the match and opted to field first. India struggled at the beginning of their innings, but Shreyas Iyer and the lower-order batters stabilised the knock and guided India to a fighting total of 249 runs.
In the chase, New Zealand too, lost a couple of early wickets and was struggling. But Kane Williamson walked out at this stage and started turning the tide in his steady way.
KL Rahul Gives Williamson A Life
In the 11th over of the chase, Williamson tried to cut away a full delivery by Axar Patel. The ball took the faintest of edges and went to KL Rahul behind the stumps. But the Indian wicketkeeper failed to grab the catch.
The Kiwi batter was in the early stages of his innings at that stage. The wicket there could have firmed India's grip on the game. The frustration of the dropped chance was evident on Rohit Sharma's face as he was seen unhappy with the keeper's effort.
