Australia's swashbuckling finisher Tim David played a valuable cameo before Ben Dwarshuis got his prized scalp in the Big Bash League qualifier between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers. Coming at number five, David struck 25 runs before getting out embarrassingly off a full toss.

The incident occurred during the 19th over of the Hurricanes' innings when Tim David was trying to ensure a fitting finish for his side. Bowling the final over of his spell, Dwarshuis conceded only three runs off his first two balls before dismissing David at a crucial juncture of the match.

From over the wicket, the left-arm pacer bowled a full toss, which David could've easily smashed out of the park. However, the Aussie star, who will represent RCB in the IPL 2025, miscued the lofted shot and found himself caught at deep midwicket by Lachlan Shaw.

Thus, David, who looked good during his brief stay, was forced to make his way back to the dugout for 25 runs.

Hobart Hurricanes Post A Challenging Total

After being invited to bat first, Hobart Hurricanes had a solid start to their innings, with Mitchell Owen and Caleb Jewell adding 47 runs in 4.1 overs for the first wicket. Although Matthew Wade fell cheaply for four runs, Ben McDermott struck a valuable cameo of 42 runs, ensuring a defendable score for the home side. Riding on David and Nikhil Chaudhary's quick-fire knocks, Hobart finished on 173 for seven in 20 overs.
