In the 5th over, Renuka bowled a full-length delivery swinging on the stumps. Kunwar attempted to play the lofted drive over mid-off; unfortunately, she got it off the cue end of the bat and failed to get the much-needed elevation. The ball flew towards Mandhana, who was stationed at the mid-off region, and she leapt in to take the catch safely.
Mandhana, who took on the mantle of India's stand-in skipper today in the absence of Harmanpreet Kaur, demonstrated her leadership skills by assisting Renuka in securing her first scalp of the innings.
Arundhati Reddy set the tone for India's performance by delivering a perfect delivery that clean-bowled Samjhana Khadka, providing India with an electrifying early breakthrough.
At the time of writing, Nepal is at 52/4. However, unfortunately their chances of qualifying for the semi-finals are very bleak now as they must chase the mammoth total of 179 in 10 overs.
