India's premier off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is plying his skills for Dindigul Dragons in the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) 2023. Known for his bowling, and occasional batting, Dragons skipper Ashwin showcased his fielding prowess against Chepauk Super Gilles (CSG) last evening.

Chasing 171, CSG were 102 for 3, when Sanjay Yadav mistimed his shot against Varun Chakaravarthy, which ended up in Ashwin's outstretched hands, who ran back from mid-off to catch a skier.

Despite Baba Aparajith's 74, no other CSG batter could contribute much with the bat, as Chakaravarthy claimed three wickets with Dragons prevailing by just one run. However, Ashwin remained wicketless in his four-over spell giving away as many as 36 runs.

Chakaravarthy is the leading wicket-taker so far in TNPL 2023 with 8, while Ashwin has managed three from as many games. 

As far as TNPL 2023 is concerned, the Dragons are leading the points table with three wins out of three, having played one less match than second-placed Lyca Kovai Kings, who are also on 6 points from four games. 

Dindigul will next lock horns against Kovai on Sunday at SCF Cricket Ground in Salem.
