Shubman Gill is undoubtedly one of the most talented batters in world cricket currently and Gujarat Titans are heavily dependent on him. He has played few fine knocks in IPL 2024, but has not been able to repeat his 2023 season heroics, departed on a low scoring every now and then. The same thing happened in the 40th match, as Gill fell for just 6 runs in the second over of GT's chase.

Delhi Capitals scored 224 in the first innings courtesy a magnificent knock of 88 from 43 balls by Pant and GT needed a rapid start from their captain.
