[Watch] Rain Persists In Colombo As IND-PAK 'Reserve Day' Encounter Faces  Threat

The ongoing Asia Cup 2023 has been nothing short of a disappointment for fans, given the weather conditions in Sri Lanka, which is co-hosting the event along with Pakistan. 

Incessant rains in Colombo have been a talking point of the tournament more than the actual cricket, which a backlash from fans on social media for the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).

The Super Fours tie between India and Pakistan, which was to be completed on Sunday, will resume today (Monday), a reserve day. If the match is called off, both teams will share one point apiece. 

However, the updates from Colombo are not so bright, given the early morning rains, which have lashed the city. Prominent journalist Vikrant Gupta shared an update from Colombo

India are handsomely placed at 147 for 2 in 24.1 overs with Virat Kohli and KL Rahul batting on 8* and 17*, respectively. Indian openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) struck fifties each before giving their wickets away to loose shots. 

Both Sharma and Gill looked in solid form, with the latter taking on Pakistan bowlers, and completing his maiden half-century against arch-rivals in international cricket. 

Several websites have forecasted thunderstorms in patches across the day, which could see a truncated match. The group A clash between India and Pakistan also resulted in a washout, after rains played spoilsport in Kandy after Team India played out their first innings.
