CSK star opener Ajinkya Rahane, who has been struggling with his form in the ongoing IPL 2024, faced another setback in the 53rd match of the season. 

This match, held between Punjab Kings and Chennai Super Kings at the HPCA on May 5th, was crucial for Rahane to prove his mettle. 

PBKS pacer Arshdeep Singh came in the 2nd over of the match and drew first blood for the Punjab side. Kagiso Rabada, known for his brilliant bowling and fielding skills, pulled off a stunner and sent Rahane back to the hut. 


Soon after CSK was invited to bat first, they started off slowly to gain momentum, but as Arshdeep provided the breakthrough, Rahane departed cheaply yet again. It was a yorker-length ball swinging into the stumps.

Rahane looks to dig it out and gets some bat to it as he attempts to flick it, but he falls over. All he does is hit it straight to Rabada, stationed at short midwicket, who takes a good catch. 

As the match progresses, Rahane departs for 9 with 33 for 1 in 4 overs.
