India's wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant sustained his unimpressive run in the Adelaide Test, as he committed a fielding blunder, giving Travis Head a lifeline in the Adelaide Test. Coming at number five, Head frustrated India with a stunning century, helping Australia claim the driving seat in the high-voltage affair.

However, the swashbuckling southpaw could've been dismissed before bringing up his century if not for Rishabh Pant's misjudgement behind the stumps. The incident occurred during the 69th over of Australia's first innings when Head was trying to form a consolidating stand with keeper-batter Alex Carey for the sixth wicket.

After bowling two consecutive dot balls, Harshit Rana offered width to Head, as the Australian batter opened his arms in pursuit of a boundary. However, all he managed was a thick outside edge, with the ball flying between Rishabh Pant and Rohit Sharma to the fence.

From the replay, it seemed that Pant was closer to the ball, and he should've gone for the catch. Thus, Head survived and eventually went on to haunt India with another remarkable ton.

Travis Head's Century Powers Australia To A Commanding Position

Travis Head once again proved his worth in the middle order, slamming a fabulous century to stun India at his home ground. The explosive left-handed batter played an aggressive brand of cricket, ensuring a sizeable lead for the home team in this crucial affair. At the time of writing, Australia were 273 for five, with Head and Carey batting on 114* and 12*, respectively.
