New Zealand's former captain Kane Williamson had a poor outing, as he was dismissed cheaply by Nahid Rana in the ongoing Champions Trophy encounter against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Coming at number three, Williamson managed only five runs before Rana got rid of him with a beauty.

Nahid Runs Riot As Williamson Departs

Chasing 237, New Zealand had a disastrous start to their innings, losing in-form opener Will Young for a six-ball duck. Ex-captain Kane Williamson joined Devon Conway, as the duo was expected to build a solid stand for the second wicket.

However, before Williamson could make an impact, Rana bowled an absolute beauty to get him in this high-profile game. From over the wicket, Rana pitched the ball up, inviting Williamson for an expansive drive.

The experienced batter fell in his trap, and as a result, he only managed an outside edge, with Bangladesh's wicket-keeper taking a simple catch.

Thus, Williamson, who was expected to bail New Zealand out of trouble, was sent back to the dugout for a single-digit score.

After Williamson's departure, Rachin Ravindra joined Devon Conway in the middle in order to stabilise things for the BlackCaps. As of writing, New Zealand were reeling at 24 for two, with Conway and Ravindra batting on 10* and 9*, respectively.
