There was a time when Shardul Thakur used to pick up wickets for fun, and MS Dhoni kept on enjoying while captaining Chennai Super Kings (CSK). And it happened yet again on Sunday (April 28) when they took on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Match 46 of IPL 2024 in Chepauk.

Shardul Thakur came to bowl the 17th over of SRH's innings, and Abdul Samad saw a full delivery outside off stump. The SRH all-rounder tried to swing down the ground, only to be holed out to substitute fielder Sameer Rizvi.

Dhoni and Shardul then had a fun chat in the middle of the stadium, reminding fans of good old days before he decided to join Delhi Capitals and Kolkata Knight Riders.

CSK won by 78 runs in Chennai, leaving Pat Cummins and his boys completely shocked after they won the toss and opted to field first. The victory took the Yellow Army to third on the points table, while SRH slipped to fourth, having won five matches and lost four.

CSK will next face Punjab Kings on May 1 in Match 49 of the ongoing edition.
