Fielding blunder is nothing new in the game of cricket, and it takes away all the hard-work that the bowler has done to contain runs.

A similar incident occurred in the ongoing Rajasthan Royals (RR) Vs Gujarat Titans (GT) IPL match in Jaipur.

The GT bowlers restricted the flow of runs, courtesy a couple of early wickets. They needed to continue the good work, but a fielding fumble and an error of judgement costed GT five runs, which RR snatched from them.

Comedy of errors lead to extra runs

Sanju Samson, the RR captain defended a Noor Ahmad delivery towards the backward point region and tried to sneak in a quick single. Sai Sudharsan, situated at that region was quick to react as he grabbed the ball, but unnecessary threw it towards the bowlers' end, knowing that Sanju had made his ground.

The ball raced towards the long-on region, where Mohit Sharma runs the wrong way and fails to judge and react to it as the ball ran past the boundary ropes, much to the sheer disappointment of the entire team.

Talking about the match, after a decent start, RR lost the crucial wickets of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. Jaiswal's poor IPL 2024 continued as he failed to deliver once again.

At the moment, Riyan Parag has joined at the crease to give support to his captain.
