Mohammad Rizwan, Pakistan's wicketkeeper batter is known for his consistency in world cricket. Time and again, he has delivered under pressure for Pakistan and in the opening game of Asia Cup 2023 against Nepal, he was once again looking in good touch, before a hilarious blunder sent him back to the pavilion. Rizwan was batting on 44 off 50 balls before a complete misjudgement and an evasive action while taking a single brought his downfall.

Pakistan lost two early wickets and both the Pakistani openers were send back to the hut with just 25 runs on the board. Rizwan joined Babar Azam after that and the duo stitched together a 86-run stand that seemed to take the game away from Nepal, before Dipendra Singh Airee's direct hit brought shockwaves around Pakistan.

A School-Boy Error From Mohammad Rizwan

Talking about the run out, it was a tossed up delivery on off, that Rizwan defended off the front foot with soft hands towards cover-point and took off for a quick single. It seemed like an easy single at first, but Rizwan took an evasive action just when he was about to reach the bowling crease as Dipendra Singh Airee's throw came in from cover-point. He managed to evade the ball but in the process forgot to drag his bat, and the direct hit meant that Rizwan was short of his crease and was left high and dry.

Rizwan's wicket was the third one for Nepal who have shown good discipline with the ball and got the wicket of Agha Salman soon after, reducing Pakistan to 124-4 in the 28th over.
