After Ashwin broke the 80-run partnership between Tom Hartley and Ollie Pope, Ravindra Jadeja executed a top-notch turning delivery to send tailender Mark Wood on a duck as England stood on the brink of a collapse.

The England Cricket Team fought back in its second innings after getting bowled out for 246 runs initially. The openers unleashed baseball intent, and Ollie Pope took over to guide England to a mammoth second-inning total.

Ollie Pope stepped out for Day 4 with an overnight ton. He wasn’t in the mood to slow down and capitalized on the momentum. Within no time, Pope surpassed the 150-run figure and was cruising through a sensational double hundred.

Meanwhile, debutant Tom Hartley supported Pope from the other end, and the duo put up an 80-run stand before R Ashwin removed the debutant.

With that, India sensed an opening, and Rohit Sharma summoned Ravindra Jadeja from the other end. The next line of target was Mark Wood, as Ollie Pope’s focus was imperishable. On the final delivery of the 102nd over, Jadeja bowled a quick away turner to Wood as the batter leaned forward for defense. However, the turn took him by surprise.

Mark Wood ended up getting a thin edge which went straight to the wicket-keeper Srikar Bharat, and the Indian side erupted in a loud appeal. Before the umpire could raise his finger, Wood marched his walk back to the dressing room, and the hosts celebrated the much-needed wicket.

It turns out the tailender did get a faint edge and, subsequently, didn’t bother to wait for the umpire’s decision.

With that, India sensed their way back into the tiring and frustrating game. The hosts bowled as many as 102 overs in the third inning as England refused to relent. The lead now stands at 230 runs, and the India side has five sessions to accomplish the target and go 1-0 in the extensive five-game series.
