Netherlands fast bowler Logan van Beek grabbed a stunning caught-and-bowl to pack senior New Zealand batsman Tom Latham during their recent faceoff in the ongoing 2023-2024 Super Smash season.

Turning up for Wellington at the Basin Reserve, the speedster also dismissed Canterbury number three Henry Nicholls later in the innings to finish his short spell with figures of 2-21.

Wellington’s Netherlands import Logan van Beek dismissed well-set Canterbury batters Henry Nicholls and Tom Latham in quick succession to finish with figures of 2-21.

His twin burst also featured a stunning catch off his own bowling to dismiss Latham, thus signaling Wellington’s fightback in the death overs of the Canterbury innings.

In spite of Logan van Beek’s counterattacking spell during the slog overs of the Canterbury innings, Wellington ended up falling 18 runs of their target.

The defeat marked Wellington’s third in succession this Super Smash 2023-24 tournament as they slipped to number three on the six-team points table. Interestingly, they had secured five wins from their first six completed fixtures of the ongoing competition.

Regardless of Wellington’s uneven performance, Logan van Beek himself has emerged as one of the standout performers of the season. The 33-year-old Dutch cricketer has so far claimed 14 wickets from just nine games to be placed among the highest wicket-takers of the 2023-24 season.
