Lockie Ferguson is one of the fastest bowlers in the world, but variations are the key when you want to succeed consistently at the higher level. 

So, Ferguson was pounded for plenty in his opening match of IPL 2024 against SRH, and was hammered for 36 runs as well in his initial two overs against KKR. The man though came back strongly in his third over and bowled a lovely slower short delivery, to get the better of dangerous Rinku Singh, who was all set to explode.

It was the first delivery of the 14th over and Ferguson bowled a slower short delivery on the middle-leg stump line. Rinku Singh went for the pull shot, but did not time it properly and ended up giving an easy catch to Yash Dayal at short fine leg. The over went for just 5 runs and it again brought back RCB in the game.

Rinku Singh scored 24 off 16 balls, and RCB have done well by picking wickets at crucial junctures, just when it seemed that KKR would run away with the game. This is a crucial game for RCB as they have won just one out of the seven played so far, while KKR are at number 3 position.
