In a remarkable display of fast bowling, Kyle Mayers of Fortune Barishal cleaned up Khawaja Nafay of Chittagong Kings with a ripper delivery. The ball hit the deck and swung extraordinarily to leave Nafay completely stunned.

The BPL 2024-25 season playoff stage began on February 3, 2025. Khulna Tigers beat Rangpur Riders in the eliminator contest to advance to the Qualifier 2 game.

Moreover, for Qualifier 1, Fortune Barishal faced Chittagong Kings. The latter were invited to bat and new addition Kyle Mayers delivered the ball of the season to draw early blood for Barishal.

Kyle Mayer bamboozles Khawaja with a ripper inswinger

With a grand finale spot on the line, Fortune Barishal's decision to field first paid off when Kyle Mayers made early use of the moisture-laden pitch under floodlights. After conceding a boundary on the opening delivery, Mayers unleashed a delivery that cricket fans won’t forget anytime soon.

Pitched around the sixth stump, the banana-shaped ball curved back into Khawaja Nafay. The ball totally bamboozled the batter as the push by Nafay found nothing but air because the ball sent the middle and leg stumps flying out.

As Khawaja stood in disbelief shadowing his bat, Mayers’ early breakthrough set the stage for a fiery bowling performance, proving why he's one of the most lethal pacers in the league.

Owing to his early breakthrough, Barishal restricted the Kings to 149 runs. In the chase, Towhid Hridoy hammered 82* off 56 balls whereas Dawid Malan contributed with 34* off 22 balls to wrap up a successful chase in 17.2 overs and advance to the Qualifier 2 game.
