You often see Kavya Maran express her emotions animatedly while cheering for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL. There was no difference on Sunday evening when CSK faced SRH in Match 46 of IPL 2024 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Kavya’s emotions were on display during the 14th over of CSK’s innings when rampant Daryl Mitchell went for a slog after watching Jaydev Unadkat’s full toss come at him. However, all the Kiwi all-rounder could do was hit straight to Nitish Reddy, who was perfectly placed at deep mid-wicket.

There was a discussion between on-field umpires and Mitchell, which left Kavya tensed in the stands. Then, after a few minutes, the officials realised Mitchell did not ask for a DRS, and therefore, they told Mitchell that he could go. The SRH co-owner breathed a sigh of relief after that.

Notably, Mitchell scored seven fours and one six in a 32-ball 52. Hence, his wicket was crucial for the Orange Army, who are still on the back foot.
