[Watch] Kane Williamson ‘Covering His Face While Laughing’ After Worst DRS Of World Cup

Possibly the worst DRS of the 2023 World Cup was taken by Kane Williamson on Thursday in Bengaluru, during New Zealand's crucial match against Sri Lanka. However, the Kiwi skipper was truly convinced by Daryl Mitchell, who tempted him more than anyone else to make a call.

Sri Lanka were already down and out, having slipped to 113/8 in a match where Pakistan were desperately wanting them to secure a win. The Kiwi players were overexcited to finish things off quickly, and thus, a horrendous call came out of nowhere when Dushmantha Chameera got a thick inside edge off Lockie Ferguson.

There were two reviews left, and Mitchell, without thinking twice, started signalling T after the LBW appeal. Williamson trusted his senior player and confirmed the same to the on-field umpire, Joe Wilson.

Then the replay appeared on the big screen, and after watching what actually happened, all the Kiwi players were in complete disbelief with smiles on their faces.

Williamson, however, hid his face while doing that, as he started to get back to his fielding position.
