The game is well and truly on, as Jasprit Bumrah has begun the fifth day positively. He sent New Zealand skipper Tom Latham back with a brilliant delivery. The first Test between India and New Zealand is in the final hours of play, and India desperately needs more scalps to stay in the game. With this wicket, Bumrah has indeed set India on that path.

In the first innings, too, Tom Latham departed early for just 15 runs. Once again, he failed to hit a big score as he did not get off the mark and walked back to the dugout for a 6-ball duck. Jasprit Bumrah hit right on the money and got India an early breakthrough.


Bumrah Gets A Breakthrough

In the first over of the day, bowling with the second ball, Bumrah unleashed an in-swinger on the fourth stump line. Latham came forward to defend it, but he got beaten on the inside edge. It went right before the stumps, and umpire Michal Gough raised his finger in a flash. 

However, the confident skipper decided to opt for a review immediately. The replays showed that there was no bat involved. Moreover, the ball tracking revealed that the cherry is indeed crashing on the middle stump and the words 'OUT' are displayed on the big screen.

This was just the start Rohit Sharma and co needed, and who better than India's premium pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, to do it. Latham walked back without troubling the scorers and wasting a review for the BlackCaps.

Siraj-Bumrah Put Pressure on NZ

Both Bumrah and Mohd. Siraj have put their pressure shoes on as they are currently not letting New Zealand batters get away with it. The Kiwis need 99 runs to win this clash and after an already delayed start due to rain, Indian fans are hopeful that wickets fall quickly or rain takes over the game on this final day. At the time of writing, NZ are at 9/1 with Devon Conway and Will Young on the crease.
