In a recent podcast, Pakistan's rising star, Ihsanullah, made surprising claims. The 22-year-old pacer compared the ace pacers of Pakistan and India - Jasprit Bumrah and Naseem Shah and stated that the Pakistan pacer is better than Bumrah. 

While the cricketing fraternity considers Jasprit Bumrah the best in the business in all the formats, Ihsanullah's claims were surprising as Naseem Shah, despite showing promise, has yet to reach his full potential at the highest level. 

Who is Ihsanullah?

Ihsanullah is a rising star known for his pace and swing. The right-arm pacer has shown much promise in the Pakistan Super League. In fact, his spell of 5/12 against the Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2023 is considered one of the fastest in the league. Ihsanullah also debuted for Pakistan in the white ball format in 2023.

However, the pacer's recent claims that Naseem Shah is a better bowler than Jasprit Bumrah might shock many. In a short video of a recent podcast that went viral on social media, Ihsanullah is heard saying, "If I compare Bumrah, then Naseem Shah is a better bowler than Bumrah." 

The claim left the host visibly surprised, and he responded by pointing out the Indian pacer's recent form. To this, Ihsanullah said, "No, you are seeing that. Naseem Shah also performed like this in the 2021 (2022) World Cup. It doesn't matter if someone doesn't perform too well in a year. Still, Naseem Shah is better than him." The host's surprise adds an element of engagement to the discussion.

Talking about the comparison between Bumrah and Naseem Shah, the Indian pacer has already proved himself in all the formats at the highest level. On the other hand, Naseem Shah has shown much promise in the international arena but has yet to deliver as expected. With injuries plaguing his career so far, Naseem's career is yet to take off to the level where he can be compared with Bumrah. 

From bowling crucial overs for India in pressure matches like the T20 World Cup final to changing the course of a Test match with his magic Bumrah has done it all. So, Naseem Shah's performances leave much scope for him to level up and match the Indian ace pacer.
