Pakistan batter, Iftikhar Ahmed showed his class in the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match and smashed a quick-fire 65* off 47 balls to steer his side out of a precarious situation. On a sluggish surface, the Pakistan star batted with grit and determination and played a calculative knock to propel his side to a match-winning score.

Playing for Rangpur Riders against Chittagong Kings, Iftikhar made full use of the tricky conditions and made sure that at the half-way mark, Riders felt secure with the total. In his 65 run knock, the highlight was two huge sixes he slammed against Khaled Ahmed towards the fag end of the innings.

In the 18th over, Khaled bowled a slower length ball on the leg stump and the batter was up for the challenge as he sat on his knees and smashed it over the fine leg region for a six. The ball turned out to be a no-ball and Iftikhar Ahmed slammed the free-hit delivery past the boundary ropes as he smacked yet another length ball over the same vacant fine leg region to bring up his fifty.

Chattogram in trouble chasing the total

Chasing a tricky 144 runs to win, Chattogram Kings have already lost 3 wickets inside the first 10 overs. The wicket got slower as the game progressed and their batters found it difficult to score runs freely.

Steven Taylor departed for a duck and Soumya Sarkar also couldn't put up a fight as the batters lost the momentum against the brilliant bowling of Rangpur Riders. The team still needs 81 off 59 deliveries.
